Their powerpoint  presentation on ‘native festivals’ of the countries-‘Holi’ (India) by Priyanshi Agarwal, ‘Haloween’(USA) by Tanisha Gupta, ‘Songkran’ (Thailand) by Yashvi Mohta was very well received. Welcome Class of 2028 !!

The very first day in school for Level I kids !!!!…… Heart filled with a gamut of feelings…excitement, anxiety, happiness, pride, apprehension to name a few !! and these are not the children but the parents we are talking about :)

2nd of April 2014 was the first day of school for the Level I kids at The Palace School. The school corridor adorned with cheerful balloons and teachers eager to receive the newest batch with a traditional ‘tikka’  painted a very auspicious picture for the day.

O! what a wonderful sight it was !! Some children were extremely confident and happily let go off their parents’ hand while others did not budge from their parents’ laps. And not only did the children howl and cry even the parents were teary eyed on seeing the ‘apple of their eyes’ embark on the most significant journey of their lives !! We saw mothers and fathers smiling through their tears at sending off their wards in the outside world for the very first time !!

Once the children were taken to their beautifully decorated classrooms by their loving teachers, some were amazed, some started enjoying and bonding with their newly found friends while some others even dozed off in their teachers’ laps !!IMG_20140402_091220

4 days gone by and the change has been remarkable. The children are so confident now and have readily accepted their school as their new home away from home. They even celebrated Red Day today !! The parents and children alike are now happily settled and are seen joyfully parting ways in the morning albeit for 4 hours :)

We are delighted to have such wonderful children in our school and we heartily once again welcome our ‘Class of 2028′ !!

Grandparents Day Celebration

Grandparents are grand in the true sense of the word. Their love is grand, their value in our lives, their care, their affection, their concern, their lessons, their stories…..everything related to them is grand…Every child is precious to their parents but he is priceless for his grandparents!!!

We may not realise it in the routine hustle bustle of our lives but our grandparents deserve to be honoured and cherished and also reminded of how important they are in our lives. The present day lifestyle of kids robs them of some of the traditional values including spending time with grandparents at home. So keeping in line with The Palace School tradition of honouring the Grandparents, each class celebrated Grandparents Day during the session 2013-14.

Each class presented a plethora of programs prepared especially for their grandparents. The excitement and exuberance in their efforts was clearly evident as it was a rare and unique opportunity for them to showcase their skills in front of their grandparents in school.

Various dances, skits, songs, musical instruments presentation, songs, stories, games and poems were presented by each class for their special guests!! Lots of prayers, good wishes and words of gratitude were conveyed to the grandparents through beautifully made greeting cards.

desert festival

Life in deserts is not only different but also interesting. In order to give a glimpse of the desert culture, students of class V organised a Desert Festival with full zeal and vigour. The event began with a Tilak ceremony’ and a warm welcome of the teachers by the popular Rajasthani song “Kesariya balam padharo mare desh”. Girls dressed in vibrant  Rajasthani attire showcased the rich and colorful Rajasthani folk culture by performing a Ghoomar dance.

Apart from the cultural show a fabulous variety of mouth-watering  Rajasthani  dishes- Dal-baati churma,Mangodi,Gatte ki sabzi,  Missi-roti,Besan chakki etc were well arranged by the students as a treat for everyone. There was a separate section of Rajasthani handicraft items (Mandana) and the backdrop was decorated with the charts displaying the culture, food, festivals and life in deserts.

A joyous atmosphere was created when the students and teachers danced together  to the tunes of folk music. Our Principal madam, Mrs. Urvashi Warman interacted with the students, pricking their curiosity about the desert region. It was an exciting and interactive day for the students.
